The Livingston County Library is introducing new technology starting Tuesday (September 1) allowing visitors to digitize family heirlooms.
The new Memory Lab is do it yourself space where patrons can reserve the lab in three hour time slots to digitize and preserve family photographs, home movies, film, and other heirlooms at no charge.
The memory lab currently offeres three different technologies to digitize heirlooms, including Photo, slide, negative and document scanner, Tape-to-DVD converter, and a Kodak reel-to-reel digitizer each including instructions to follow. The library recommends to bring your own storage device and any other necessary supplies.
Patrons must be at least 18 years old to use and have a library card with good standing. Out of area visitors are required to provide identification.
