An arrest has been made in a cold case murder from December 1988 in southwest Missouri where the victim has ties to southwest Iowa and southeast Nebraska.
Thanks to a KXCV-KRNW listener who said the victim, Ronna Bremer, grew up and graduated high school in Essex, Iowa.
The website findagrave dot com shows Bremer was born in Otoe, Nebraska and was laid to rest in Nebraska City.
Ronna Bremer was 22 when she disappeared from her home in Ozark, which is south of Springfield.
On August 2nd, her ex-husband Joel was booked in the Christian County jail on second degree murder charges in the deaths of Ronna and their unborn baby.
As of August 7th, Joel Bremer remains held in lieu of a $200,000 dollar bond. If and when he is released from jail, he will be on house arrest except for specific reasons where he will be required to wear a GPS monitor.
Online court records include the prosecuting attorney's application for an arrest warrant, which says Joel Bremer poses a flight risk because his current wife has ties to the Philippines.
The arrest warrant application also says Joel Bremer, who was living in Kansas City at the time of his arrest, has an alleged history of domestic violence against Ronna. The application also says 12 years after Ronna's disappearance, Joel was sentenced in two Missouri cases for sexual abuse.
The online court records give no information as to what led to a grand jury indictment that led to the arrest warrant.
