A UTV driven by a 14 year old in Albany crashed Wednesday afternoon (August 5). The Missouri Highway Patrol reported a ten year old passenger who was in the utility vehicle that overturned was taken by a private vehicle to the Albany hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The crash on East Jackson Street happened when the UTV drifted counter clockwise and came to rest on the passenger side. Neither person was using what the highway patrol calls a safety device.
A motorcyclist from St. Joseph was taken to the hospital in Fairfax after failing to navigate a curve on Highway 136 east of Rock Port Wednesday afternoon (August 5). The report from the Missouri Highway Patrol did not say if Wednesdsay's rain was a contributing factor. The 28 year old was ejected after the motorcycle overturned. The driver sustained moderate injuries. The report said the driver was using a safety device.
Twice this week, semis were involved in crashes on Interstate 29.
Eight troopers were at the scene of a collision involving two semis Tuesday afternoon (August 4) on I-29 north of Corning. A northbound semi stopped on the east shoulder was struck by a northbound semi that went off the highway. The semi in motion came to rest in the median and the semi that was stopped was pushed into a ditch. Both drivers were taken to a hospital. A 50 year old woman from Ohio driving the semi that was in motion sustained serious injuries. A 64 year old man from Louisiana driving the semi that was stopped had moderate injuries.
Thursday (August 6) just before 4 a.m. two troopers responded to a crash involving a southbound semi near Oregon that left the roadway, returned to the pavement and overturned. The semi came to rest on the driver's side, blocking both lanes. The driver, a 45 year old man from California, was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
