A month away from the start of school in the Maryville R-II district on August 24th, progress continues on a variety of summer building and maintenance projects.

Assistant superintendent Jeremy Ingraham says the total renovation taking place at the Maryville High School gymnasium includes revamping the seating, refinishing the gym floor, and new paint in the gym.
At Maryville Middle School, wooden gym bleachers are being replaced with what Ingraham describes as a blend of plastic and fiberglass material that has a bit of cushion to make sitting better for everyone.
Eugene Field Elementary has a new gym floor, where carpet has been replaced with a rubberized surface that Ingraham says will be great for the kids.
The middle school has a new entrance, and tuckpointing was done on the elementary building's north and west sides.
And new concrete work has been completed at the high school, middle school, and elementary campuses.
