Mosaic Life Care breaks ground on a $70 million dollar Heart, Lung, and Cancer center in St. Joseph.
The three floor, 70,000 square foot center and an on-site parking garage at Faraon and Heartland is designed to deliver a seamless experience to every patient at one location. The center is projected to open in the summer of 2028.

Mosaic vice president of communications and community relations Joey Austin says the center, which has been in development for decades, is being built as Mosaic has had a 32 percent increase in cardiology services during the last two years.
Austin says the design of the new center will allow Mosaic to have an integrated delivery of pulmonary, cardiology, and vascular surgery services. That includes on-site imaging and diagnostic capabilities and dedicated rehabilitation and chronic care support services.
Providing input into the new center included Mosaic's board of trustees, executive leadership, medical professionals, and patients.
The ground level of the center will have a cardio and pulmonary rehabilitation gym and an area for diabetes care.
The second floor will be home to pulmonary services, vascular surgery and ultrasound imaging, pulmonary function test rooms, and an x-ray room.
The third floor will be home to cardiology services, cardiothoracic surgery, a heart center/echo department, and an INR and device clinic.
