Every election is a struggle to find workers to take care of voters.
Nodaway County Clerk Melinda Patton says it wasn't until July 17th, or just over two weeks before the August 4th election, that she was able to complete staffing for the county's 17 precincts.
Patton says there are multiple reasons why it's hard to find people who can work on election day between five in the morning until after seven in the evening.
Patton told Nodaway County commissioners at their July 14th meeting according to meeting minutes that they will have to consider consolidating precincts in the future due to the shortage of election workers.
