Conception Abbey has exceeded its fundraising goal for a major facilities improvement campaign, raising more than $1.9 million through its Faithful Stewards mini-campaign.
The campaign surpassed its $1.7 million target by more than $200,000, providing funding for critical upgrades at Conception Abbey and Conception Seminary College.
Projects included repairs to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and St. Maur Hall. Improvements involved replacing protective glass over the Basilica’s stained-glass windows, upgrading HVAC systems to better control humidity and beginning a phased replacement of the Basilica’s aging climate-control equipment.
Additional funds also allowed the Abbey to install a larger backup generator to serve the monastery, Basilica and other campus facilities.
Abbey leaders said donor support has helped preserve the historic buildings while strengthening the mission of priestly formation for future generations.
