Albrecht-Kemper Museum to host Annual Sugarplum Festival this week

The Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art is once again transforming into a holiday wonderland as it hosts its annual Sugarplum Festival, a St. Joseph tradition for more than 40 years.

The three-day festival begins with the Preview Party on Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event offers guests an early opportunity to shop and enjoy hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and festive beverages while browsing a curated selection of gifts and decorations from local and regional vendors.

Following the preview, doors open to the public for two full days of shopping. The festival continues on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shoppers can expect to find a wide variety of handcrafted goods, seasonal décor, gourmet foods, and holiday treats — all while supporting the museum’s exhibits and educational programs.

Tickets for the Preview Party can be purchased at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum, East Hills Shopping Center, Price Chopper, Hy-Vee, Mosaic Life Care, and the St. Joseph Visitors Bureau. Tickets are also available online.

The Sugarplum Festival has long served as one of the museum’s most important annual fundraisers, combining community spirit with holiday cheer while supporting the arts in northwest Missouri.
