The East Hills Library is inviting residents to learn how they can make St. Joseph a more welcoming place for birds. The event, held Saturday, Nov. 1, will feature a presentation from Kaylee Woelfel with the Missouri River Bird Observatory, who will discuss ways to support bird populations year-round and help create safer environments for local species.

The program will focus on practical steps individuals can take to protect birds during the colder months, including how to make backyards and community spaces more bird-friendly. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in a D-I-Y activity that demonstrates simple, sustainable ways to help birds thrive through the winter season.

Library staff say the event is designed to raise awareness about Missouri’s bird species and encourage conservation efforts within the community. While the presentation is geared toward adults, all ages are welcome to attend.

Registration is required, and space is limited. For more information, ADA assistance, or to register, call 816-236-2136.
