New coffee bar, Haven, opens in Downtown Maryville

A new coffee spot is set to open its doors in downtown Maryville this week. Haven, a modern mercantile and coffee bar, will celebrate its grand opening Thursday at 7 a.m.

The shop is a rebrand of Willow and Elm, a boutique previously located on the city’s main square. Local entrepreneur Stephanie Campbell Yount runs the business. She says Haven will combine a boutique retail space with a coffee bar, aiming to create a community hub.

“We rebranded our retail store as Haven, which will be a mercantile and coffee shop. So we will have our boutique store in here as well as the coffee and café,” Yount said. “We decided that we wanted something that allowed our community and our clientele to maybe just linger a little bit longer and connect with each other on a more meaningful and deeper level.”

The grand opening will run for three days, Thursday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Yount said everyone in the community is invited to attend.

“We’re super excited to show it off and we’ve been working really hard on it. We’re really hopeful that people will come out,” she said.

Haven is located on Fourth Street, across from the Nodaway County Courthouse.
