The Missouri Department of Transportation is offering a special over-width hauling permit at no cost to help farmers and ranchers move hay as needed.
This comes as a response to Governor Mike Kehoe's declaration of a drought alert affecting almost the entirety of Missouri. Livestock producers may need to bring additional hay to their herds as pastures dry up, an issue of particular concern in southern Missouri, where the drought has been severe.
To find out more about the permits and how to get one, you can call MoDOT's Motor Carrier Services office at 1-800-877-8499.
