Following a record-breaking fundraising effort, Mosaic Medical Center - Maryville is investing in new equipment.
The funds come from the Saint Francis Classic, a golf tournament the hospital held back in August at Mozingo Lake. The Saint Francis Foundation, which raises money for Mosaic, sponsored the event.
The foundation's Director of Development, Megan Jennings, says the event raised $92,000 more than in years prior.
"We had 62 teams at the 35th annual St. Francis Classic this year,” Jennings said. “That's about 250 golfers who came out to the Mozingo Lake Golf Course for a great cause."
The funds will go toward equipment supporting women's health programs at Mosaic Medical Center in Maryville.
"Each year we pick a project that is needed in the hospital in support of our local patients.” This years, said Jennings, the event raised money a 3D mammography machine in Maryville. Jennings thanked everyone for coming out and supporting this year's event.
