The St Joe Fire Department has been awarded over 100 thousand dollars in grant funds for the construction of a new fire training facility in the city.
The money comes from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
This specific grant is designed to assist communities that house military bases and programs.
The training fire training facility has a flexible setup, giving firefighters the chance to train for the different scenarios they may encounter. Initial construction is expected to be complete by next May.
