Maryville once again has a full City Council. At monday night's meeting, Erin Allen was sworn in, joining the board to fill a seat vacated by Tye Parsons.
Allen submitted a letter of interest to serve on the council following Parson's resignation earlier this summer, and she was chosen by councilmembers to fill the seat at least until April of 2026, when she will have the opportunity to run for a full term.
Allen has a professional background in mapping technology, business management, and utility services. She is graduate of Northwest Missouri State University.
Councilmember John McBride spoke at the meeting to welcome Allen, and said her skills will serve the city well.
McBride says, "We're glad you're joining us, and I think the city will be happy with the experience in infrastructure that she brings and I know the council will be benefited by it."
After the meeting, Allen declined to comment on her new position.
