St. Joseph Public Library logo

Step into one of America’s most chilling unsolved mysteries on Thursday, August 21, at 6 p.m. at the East Hills Library with paranormal investigator Becky Ray.

In this haunting presentation, she will uncover the story of the 1912 Villisca Axe Murders, a crime that shocked the nation and left the small town of Villisca, Iowa, in fear. Many believe the victims’ spirits still linger in the home where the murders took place.

Becky will revisit the tragic night and examine the many theories, rumors, and unanswered questions that continue to surround the case. Along the way, she will share eerie accounts of ghostly encounters and unexplained happenings that have been reported in the Villisca house for more than a century. With her guidance, you’ll experience the unsettling history of this infamous crime and the supernatural legends tied to it.

The program is designed for adults 18 and older. Admission is free, and all library programs are open to the public. For accessibility accommodations, please contact the ADA coordinator at 232-4038.

Hannah Staggs is the membership development and events coordinator for KXCV-KRNW, based in Maryville, Missouri.
