Northwest Missouri State University is moving ahead with phase two of its $105 million infrastructure modernization project, with ongoing work continuing to affect buildings and services across campus this fall.

Over the summer, heating and cooling upgrades were completed in several buildings, along with improvements to water, sewer, and electrical systems.

This fall, upgrades are planned for the Administration Building, B.D. Owens Library, the Student Union, and Everett Brown Education Hall. The Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts will not host large events while cooling units are replaced. Exterior tunnel work also continues.

The University’s Title 9 and Equity Offices will move to the Student Union’s third floor at semester’s end. In December, the Administration Building will close for renovations through summer 2026, with most offices relocating to Owens Library and temporary modular units in Lot 27.

The project aims to deliver more reliable and efficient utility services across campus.
