Upcoming activities at the Maryville Public Library includes a used book sale from October 21st through the 26th. Donations of clean, gently used books are being accepted in the library's north lobby through October 17th during their operating hours of weekdays between 9 and 6 and Saturdays from 9 until 3.

The library invites gardeners in Nodaway and adjacent counties to donate clean and dry seeds from healthy and mature plants for a seed library. For more information on how to harvest, dry, and donate your seeds, visit https://bit.ly/4hUpD2e.

Parents who have their children participating in the library's "1,000 Books Before Kindergarten" program are reminded to inform the library if their child has or will finish in time for the graduation event on November 3rd. The deadline to notify the library in time to order t-shirts and print certificates is October 19th.

More information on these and other activities are on the Maryville Public Library's Facebook page.

Bill Oliver has returned to his alma mater as News Director for KXCV/KRNW after leading award winning news operations as part of a career that has also included sports, operations, management, and sales at public and commercial radio stations in Texas, Kansas, and Nebraska.

A 1981 Northwest Missouri State University graduate, Oliver was deeply involved with KXCV and KDLX as a student, hosting music and news programs, calling sports broadcasts, and helping keep the station on the air after the 1979 Administration Building fire.

Oliver says his return is motivated by a desire to be closer to family and to give back to the university and the mentors who helped shape his broadcasting career.
