Maryville's remembrance of the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks had a theme of never forget.

Speakers included Maryville mayor John McBride, who served in the Navy before the attacks. After the attacks, he enlisted in the Army National Guard.
Another speaker, Maryville fire chief Jace Pine, was five years old at the time of the attacks.
Pastor JD Dirks of Maryville's Calvary Chapel church, who gave the invocation, is a Marine veteran who served in Operation Desert Storm.
Also participating in this (FRIDAY) morning's service were Maryville High School's Spectrum choir, who sang the National Anthem, members of the Maryville fire department, an honor guard and firing squad composed of members from the American Legion posts in Maryville and Conception, and Mike Ceperaly, a law enforcement veteran, who played "Taps" to end the service.
