The summer meeting of the Northwest Missouri State board of regents included continuing support for the university's regional professional development center that assists elementary and secondary schools.
The more than $2 million dollar contract between the center and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education supports the work of 17 full time and four part time employees. The center, which Northwest has supported for more than 30 years, assists 59 school districts in the 15 county region of northwest Missouri.

In other business, the regents approved hiring seven full time faculty members, 123 adjunct faculty, and two police officers.

The board approved more than 500 students who will receive degrees following summer classes.
