The Family Support Division office in Maryville is helping to feed residents struggling to afford food through a statewide food drive.
The office has opened a local drop-off site for both perishable and nonperishable food items to benefit area food banks.
Organizer Shevone Stevens said the effort is part of a larger initiative taking place across Missouri.
“In the food drive, we’re just trying to help our local food banks raise enough food to help out our communities in the area,” Stevens said. “This is also covering not just Nodaway County, but it’s a statewide drive that all Family Support Divisions are doing. ”Residents can donate items at the Family Support Division office, located at 301 East Summit Drive in Maryville, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or at any local food bank or Family Support Division resource center.
For more information or to find additional drop-off locations, residents can contact their local Family Support Division office.
