Bearcat tandem reels in 2nd set of all-tourney honors

Northwest senior Ella Caffery ranks second in the MIAA with 257 assists through seven matches.

Seniors Ella Caffery and Kasidy Mohwinkle have guided Northwest Missouri State to five wins in the first two weekends, and they're again being recognized for their efforts.

Caffery and Mohwinkle were selected to the Drury Invitational All-Tournament Team following a 3-1 weekend for the Bearcats.

A native of Moscow, IA, Caffery averaged 10.4 assists per set while hitting .370 for the weekend. She put up a season-high 54 assists against Cameron, and posted her first double-double of the weekend with 46 assists and 15 digs in the lone loss of the weekend to Drury.

Mohwinkle recorded a .330 hitting percentage with 3.31 kills per set through the four matches. The product of Aplington, IA posted double-digit kills in each of the final three matches of the weekend, and has hit .300 or better in six of seven matches this season.

The Bearcat seniors also nabbed all-tournament team honors at the FHSU Tiger Invitational in Hays, KS to begin the season. Their efforts have Northwest sitting at 5-2 as they go on the road again this weekend for the Illinois-Springfield Tournament.
