MARYVILLE, Mo. — The Maryville City Council is set to vote Tuesday, Sept. 30, on its budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
The city’s next fiscal year begins Oct. 1, requiring a budget to be in place by then. Councilmembers and staff began the budgeting process in August, continuing discussions through last week’s meeting when City Manager Ryan Heiland reviewed final adjustments.
“It went well,” Heiland said of the process. “We’ll meet back here again at 4 o’clock on Tuesday and talk about the final budget, see if there are any last-minute corrections, things like that. Then we’ll approve the final budget on Sept. 30.”
Maryville’s current fiscal year budget totaled more than $62 million. City officials describe the adoption of the budget as the most important function of the council, as it directs funding for all services and projects.
The council will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Public Safety Building. The session is open to the public.
