The City of Savannah is one step closer to getting a new pool, following a successful fundraising effort this past Saturday.
The Savannah Parks Board announced this summer that the City's current Aquatics Center is beyond repair and will have to close. A nonprofit group of city residents came together to form the Andrew County Aquatics Initiative which is raising money for a new pool. The group held a "Splash Bash" event on Saturday, September Sixth to raise funds for the project.
The goal of the fundraiser was $50,000, but $60,000 was raised.
