The city of Maryville is working to replace their current comprehensive plan. The planning project is being called Maryville 2045, and the plan will guide city decision making through the next 20 years. City manager Ryan Highland, says the original plan was put into place in 2012.

"Maryville 2045 is simply updating and actually creating a new comprehensive plan that will be approved by planning and zoning commission and city council in January or February of 26.", says Heiland.

City officials are looking for citizen input on the plan with two design workshops. In these workshops, residents can have specific discussions about their ideas for different city properties. Heiland says urban planners from the design group, RDG Consulting, hired by the city to help on the plan will be at the event.

Heiland says, " If there's a particular property that resident or anybody's really interested in and they start having that conversation, the RDG will have planners on site that will be able to sketch the ideas for the land use, kind of in real time."

The workshops will be held Wednesday, September 3rd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Thursday, September 4th from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Maryville Public Safety Building
