Northwest 64, Emporia State 61

Northwest Missouri State held on for a 64-61 win over Emporia State despite a furious comeback by the Hornets.

The Bearcats (18-4, 14-2 MIAA) withstood a 16-5 run by ESU over the final seven minutes of the game. The Hornets had the ball with 19 seconds remaining, but a late three-pointer missed the mark and the Bearcats survived.

Wes Dreamer finished with 23 points and seven rebounds. Bennett Stirtz added 14 points. Both of those two players were on the floor for all 40 minutes Wednesday night.

Byron Alexander finished with eight points and four rebounds in 14 minutes of action.

The Bearcats are on the road again Saturday in Topeka, KS against Washburn. Game time is 3pm. Pregame begins at 2:30pm on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9.
