Northwest Missouri State basketball capped its homestand with a doubleheader sweep of Newman, while Bearcat track & field returned for its first full team meet since early December.

Fresh off the Coach Richard Alsup Open Saturday, Northwest is now set for the Pittsburg State Invitational in Pittsburg, KS this weekend. Junior sprinter Lexie Gilbert knocked off rust at home last weekend in the 60m and 200m, and is looking to continue building through the winter for the opportunity at an NCAA provisional qualifying time. Gilbert and head coach Brandon Masters joined the Bearcat Coaches Show to discuss the season and her development.

Bearcat basketball dismantled Newman Saturday afternoon, now go back on the road for a bout with rival Central Missouri Thursday and Lincoln two days later. Women's players Caely Kesten and Kelsey Fields, and men's player Isaiah Jackson were on the air talking about the strides each team has made as they hit the mid-point of the conference season.

Northwest football's Kobe Clayborne also stopped by the show. Clayborne was named Academic All-America Tuesday becoming just the 25th Bearcat football player to earn the recognition.
