This week's Bearcat Coaches Show highlighted fast starts for spring sports, while a strong campaign for Winter sports continued.

Northwest softball opened the season winning three of five games thanks to an offensive outburst. Head coach Naomi Tellez, senior Lauren Gray and senior Abby Nolte join the show to discuss the first weekend of action.

Bearcat baseball made the most of a trip to Memphis, TN by taking two of four from Christian Brothers. This week, they head to Arkansas for four games. Head coach Darin Loe and senior Caden Diel talk about the early results.

Both the men's and women's tennis teams battled Missouri-St. Louis Sunday in St. Joseph, and each Bearcat squad came away with a convincing victory. Hall of fame head coach Mark Rosewell brought Angela Per Moreno and Martin Sanchez to break down the first matches of the spring season.

Kaylee Harp and the Northwest women's 4x400m relay put up one of the fastest times in program history on Saturday. Harp also put up a provisional qualifying time in the 800m. Head coach Brandon Masters and Harp were guests on the show after an impressive meet all-around.

Northwest women's basketball earned a second win over a ranked opponent on Saturday with Fort Hays in town. Now the Bearcats get set to go on the road to face Emporia State and Washburn. Team leaders Emma Atwood and Jayna Green join the program ahead of the roadtrip.
