A trio of Bearcats scored in double figures as Northwest Missouri State knocked off William Jewell 72-56 in the home opener Friday evening.

The Bearcats (3-0) led the Cardinals by six at halftime, but broke the game open shooting 57-percent in the third quarter. Jayna Green took a feed from Molly Hartnett and hit a layup late in the quarter to extend the lead to 13 points entering the fourth. Northwest kept pushing. Peyton Kelderman hit a three to put the Bearcats in front by 17 points with nine minutes remaining in the game.

The Cardinals wouldn't get closer than 13 the rest of the way.

Kelderman led Northwest with 14 points. Lindsey Kelderman put up 10 points, and Kelsey Fields scored 10 points on a perfect 5-5 shooting.

The Bearcats are back in action Saturday, November 18 at 1:30pm against Rockhurst.
