Northwest 64, Nebraska Kearney 42

Northwest Missouri State locked down Nebraska Kearney en route to a 64-42 win in the MIAA Tournament quarterfinals.

The Bearcats (23-6) held the Lopers to their lowest scoring output of the season and just 1-13 on three-point attempts.

Northwest trailed early after missing its first five shots of the game, but responded by making four of their next five and taking a 12-8 lead. They never trailed again after that.

Kelsey Fields posted her 10th career double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds.

Caely Kesten scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half.

Molly Hartnett put up nine points, nine rebounds and five assists.

The Bearcats move onto the MIAA Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2011. They play at 2:15 Saturday afternoon. Pregame on KXCV 90.5/KRNW 88.9 begins at 1:45pm.
