Northwest 6, Fort Hays 17

Northwest Missouri State football suffered its second consecutive loss with a 17-6 road decision against Fort Hays State Saturday night.

It marks the first time that the Bearcats (1-2) have fallen below .500 after three games since 2003.

Noah Guastella put up the only points for Northwest in the first half on a 29-yard field goal. The 'Cats and Tigers were tied at halftime.

Fort Hays went back on top with an 18-yard touchdown pass from Jack Dawson to Bryson Smith in the third quarter.

Guastella drilled another field goal to make it a four-point game, but Northwest wasn't able to put up anymore points the rest of the way.

Isaac Vollstedt finished with six tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and an interception. Cahleel Smith had eight tackles and three pass break-ups.

Jay Harris crossed the century mark for the third straight game with 104 yards on 27 carries.
