The Northwest Missouri State women's basketball team defeated Peru State 75-61 yesterday in a non-conference tune up before the MIAA Conference season begins on Thursday.
Molly Hartnett led the Bearcats with 14 points and had a team-high 7 assists and Emma Atwood, back from a knee injury, came off the bench for 12 points and 5 rebounds.
Northwest improves to 4 and 1 and returns to action Thursday in Joplin against Missouri Southern at 5:30 as part of a women's/men's doubleheader with the Lions to open up conference play.
Both games can be heard on KXCV/KRNW beginning at 5:00 p.m. with our pregame for the women's match up.
