Northwest Missouri State jumped in front of Missouri Southern and quickly established a 10-point lead early in the first half, and kept the Lions at bay throughout Saturday afternoon on the way to a 75-64 win.

The Bearcats (27-2, 20-2 MIAA) finish the regular season with a 13th consecutive win, and now get set for the MIAA Tournament next week in Kansas City as the top seed.

Missouri Southern trailed by double-digits over the final 24:55 of the game, and the Northwest advantage grew to as large as 21 points in the second half.

Diego Bernard posted a game-high 19 points to go along with three rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Wes Dreamer added 15 points and five rebounds, while Luke Waters chipped in with 11 points and two rebounds.

Those three seniors, honored prior to the start of the game, guided Northwest to a perfect regular season on their home floor. The Bearcats are 14-0 inside Bearcat Arena.

The next matchup for Northwest is coming Thursday at noon at Municipal Auditorium. The Bearcats will meet the winner between Washburn and Missouri Western. The Bearcat game can be heard on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 with pregame beginning at 11:30am.
