Northwest Missouri State athletics posted a successful Family Weekend with soccer, volleyball and football going a combined 3-0-1 against MIAA competition.

The Bearcat soccer team dominated Missouri Southern to open things up on Friday, then played No. 18 Central Missouri to a 2-2 tie Sunday. Head coach Marc Gordon and Yesenia Arnau join the show to discuss upcoming matchups with Washburn and No. 5 Emporia State at home this weekend.

Northwest volleyball lost its match Friday due to COVID-19 concerns within the Missouri Southern program, but knocked off Pittsburg State in four sets Saturday. Head coach Amy Woerth and sophomore Alyssa Rezac spoke about the win and the upcoming challenges against No. 10 Nebraska Kearney and Fort Hays State this weekend.

The Northwest football team shutout Central Oklahoma to post a 3-0 September record. Now the Bearcats are set to open October in St. Joseph against Missouri Western Saturday at 6pm. Linebacker Jackson Barnes joined the show to discuss his MIAA Defensive Player of the Week honors and what he's expecting from the Griffons.
