Northwest 72, Rogers State 50

Northwest Missouri State advanced to the MIAA Tournament Semifinals for the 11th straight season with a 72-50 win over Rogers State Thursday night.

The Bearcats (26-5) used a 10-0 run early in the first half to jump in front, then pulled away in the second half with an 11-0 run. The lead grew to as many as 30 points with just over eight minutes left in the game.

Diego Bernard led Northwest with 18 points, hitting all three of his attempts beyond the arc. He now has 1,580 career points, which ranks 10th in program history.

The Bearcats now await the winner between Fort Hays and Missouri Southern in the tournament semifinals at 8:15pm Saturday. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at 7:45pm.
