Northwest 59, Northeastern State 7

Northwest Missouri State opened up a 28-point first half lead and never looked back en route to a 59-7 win over Northeastern State on Saturday.

The Bearcats (6-1) are now 11-0 all-time against the Riverhawks.

Northwest was led by an overwhelming rushing attack spear-headed by Al McKeller and Jamar Moya. The 'Cats earned 387 yards on the ground.

McKeller continued his standout season picking up 130 yards on 16 carries. The Indianapolis, IN native remains the leader of the pack in the MIAA averaging 133.9 rushing yards per game.

Moya, a transfer into the program from MidAmerica Nazarene, ran for 169 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries, including a 71-yard score in the third quarter. Two of his four receptions on the day also went for touchdowns in the win.

Northeastern State was limited to 101 total yards and managed just six first downs.

The homecoming game is next up for Northwest Missouri State. The Bearcats host Nebraska Kearney Saturday at 2pm. Pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 begins at noon.
