Northwest 54, Southwest Baptist 73

Northwest Missouri State women's basketball trailed by just one point at halftime, but Southwest Baptist pulled away in the third quarter for a 73-54 victory Saturday afternoon.

In the first half, Northwest (7-17, 3-12 MIAA) was paced by Kendey Eaton and Mallory McConkey combining for 21 points in the opening quarters. The Bearcats were down just 30-29 as the teams reached halftime.

SBU opened the second half on a 14-4 run, and outscored Northwest 30-13 in the third quarter.

Eaton put up 20 points for the Bearcats in the loss.

Mallory McConkey finished with 14 points and six rebounds. Kaylani Maiava recorded eight points and nine rebounds.

Northwest returns to the road Thursday for a matchup with Central Missouri. The game will get underway at 5:30pm, with pregame on KXCV 90.5 and KRNW 88.9 beginning at 5:10pm.
