Northwest Missouri State football improved to 7-1 with a 38-17 win over Lindenwood Saturday afternoon in St. Charles.

The Bearcats limited the Lions to just 47 rush yards and intercepted quarterback Cade Brister twice.

Isaiah Strayhorn rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns, and Josh Caldwell also found the end zone as the 'Cats jumped out to a 31-7 lead early in the third quarter and never looked back.

The Bearcat defense totaled 12 tackles for loss, led by Mike Ehlke with 3 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Trent Nally picked off a pass, his third of the season, and Jackson Barnes came up with his first career interception.

Northwest is on the road again next Saturday against Northeastern State. Bearcat Gameday presented by Impact Interiors starts at 1pm, followed by kickoff at 2pm on KXCV 90.5, KRNW 88.9.
