Northwest 73, Missouri Southern 90

The road woes continued for Northwest women's basketball on Thursday evening as Missouri Southern topped the 'Cats 90-73 in Joplin.

The loss drops Northwest to 0-6 in away games this season.

The Bearcats (1-12, 0-5 MIAA) trailed by just seven at the end of the first quarter, but the Lions began to pull away in the second period, and led 47-32 at halftime. Northwest outscored the Lions by one in the third quarter, and battled tough in the fourth quarter, but couldn't overcome the first half deficit.

Freshman Jaelyn Haggard led the Bearcats with 21 points, including 4-9 from three-point range. She also added three assists.

Tanya Meyer added 20 points and eight rebounds, while Kaylani Maiava finished with 11 points and six rebounds.
