Northwest Missouri State hung with Quincy early on in a non-conference game Saturday evening, but the Bearcats didn't have enough firepower in a 79-70.

The loss drops their record to 1-10 on the season, while the Hawks improve to 3-6.

Northwest trailed by seven points early on, but ended the first quarter on a 9-2 run to take a 19-17 lead into the second quarter. Quincy answered with a 16-0 run of their own to take a 14-point lead that they wouldn't relinquish.

The Bearcats clawed back, and a Macy Williams three-pointer with 3:13 left in the third quarter cut the deficit to just two points. From that point, Northwest was held scoreless for the next five minutes of gameplay allowing Quincy to go back in front by 16 points early in the fourth quarter.

The 'Cats did receive their most balanced scoring effort in weeks with four players finishing in double figures.

Mallory McAndrews finished with 15 points on 5-10 three-point shooting. She also had two assists and two steals.

Tanya Meyer had 15 points and nine rebounds, while Jaelyn Haggard added 13 points and four assists. Kaylani Maiava also finished with a season-high 10 points and seven rebounds.
