No. 1 Northwest Missouri State University continued its dominance of the MIAA with a 19-0 win over Lindenwood on Saturday.

The Bearcats limited Lindenwood to just 176 total yards in the shutout, including a mere five rush yards for the entire game. The defense even tacked on two points of their own on a safety with 44 seconds remaining in the first half when Ben Spaeth and Bobby Gruenloh tackled Shakeem Wharton in the end zone.

Northwest has put together an 8-0 campaign so far in 2017, and have won 38 straight overall dating back to the beginning of the 2015 season.

Senior wide receiver Shane Williams received the Don Black Award, which goes to the Homecoming game MVP, as he put up single-game career highs with nine receptions for 134 yards.

The Bearcats also fed the Lions a steady dose of Jordan Thompson and Brody McMahon out of the backfield. Thompson led the way with 72 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, and McMahon added 63 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.

Northwest is on the road October 28 at Pittsburg State with just three games remaining in the regular season.
