Bearcats Sweep Lincoln

The Northwest Missouri State Bearcat men's and women's basketball teams swept Lincoln University Saturday afternoon at Bearcat Arena.

In the men's game, the Bearcats defeated the Blue Tigers 77-67 to win their fourth straight game.

Bearcat head men's basketball coach Ben McCollum says despite the win he feels his team could have played better Saturday.

Justin Pitts after missing a number of games with a high ankle sprain and scored 18 points.

The Bearcat men are now in a three way tie for first in the MIAA with Central Missouri and Lindenwood all with 10-4 conference records.

Northwest Men are 17-5 overall.

The Northwest women defeated Lincoln 63-59.

Bearcat women's head coach Michael Smith says he was pleased with the his team's effort Saturday.

Tanya Meyer led the Bearcats with 17 points and Shelby Mustain added 14.

The Bearcat women are now 8-15 overall and 4-10 in the MIAA.

Up next for both Northwest teams will be Missouri Southern Wednesday night at Bearcat Arena.

The women tip off at 5:30 and the men 7:30.
