This week brings many area schools back into session. Students in the Maryville R-2 School district are set to return on Wednesday the 20th. Students at the Eugene Field Elementary School and Early Childcare Center will be welcomed by updated classroom spaces and entryways with increased safety features. Work completed on those projects this summer.
Teachers have been in classrooms over the past week, and series of registration and open house events have taken place. Interim Superintendent Phil Pohren told KXCV it is a big day for parents and students, especially for the district's youngest.
Pohren says, "The pictures of the kindergarteners by the sign is one of the best memories of school and one of the best memories for families. But parents just know it's going to take a little longer to drop them off at school, or pick them up from the bus after school."

"We commit to try to keep that as up-to-date as possible, a lot of things slip through the cracks because there is a lot of information going out. We encourage parents to tune in to what is coming out of each office at each of the schools, whether that is newsletters, emails, etc.", says Pohren.
Next Monday, the 25th, tune in for a Spoofhound Spotlight on KXCV at about 9 AM, for a full conversation on district updates.
