Phone outages in the region over the last few days

Phone outages have been reported

Emergency services in Atchison County has reported phone disruptions in the last few days. A cut fiber in Platte County knocked out 911 calls to the Sheriff's office last evening. If you continue to experience disruptions, call their secondary line at 660-744-6606, preferably on a cellphone, as households landlines may be impacted.

According to Atchison County Emergency Coordinator Rhonda Wiley, service disruptions over the last few days indicate there could be multiple problems at play.

Meanwhile, KQ2 Television out of St Joseph reported an arson fire in Cameron in late June is being tied to phone outages. According to the Cameron Police Department the targeted building held critical infrastructure for regional phone lines.
