Extreme heat is expected to move through the region

Extreme heat is moving into the region this week with heat indices forecast in the triple digits - up to 107 degrees fahrenheit.

This is considered an extreme weather event by the national weather service, and outdoor activity could become dangerous between Tuesday afternoon and Thursday evening.

An Extreme Heat Watch in place for Tuesday through Thursday evening.

The City of Maryville is pointing residents towards cooling centers: public places with air conditioning for those seeking relief.

These are:
