The City of Maryville is looking to purchase a new fire truck. Fire Chief Jace Pine explains it would replace the current Engine 3, which has served the city for 30 years.

Those newer features include lighting, increased seating capacity and safety measures. A replacement engine is likely to cost around a million dollars, and take two years to build.
The department is pursuing a 500,000 dollar grant to help with the cost. At its meeting this week, the City Council voted unanimously to help the Fire Department pursue the grant. It will be submitted this summer, Pine says.

A new engine 3 is included in the city’s capital improvement plan, which presents a long term vision of city needs.
