The City of Maryville has named a new City Manager. Ryan Heiland was appointed during an executive session of the City Council this week. A familiar face in both Maryville and City Hall, Heiland has been filling the position on an Interim basis since former Manager Greg McDanel stepped down in March.
In a statement, Mayor Darren Merrill said in the past few months Heiland has "demonstrated strong leadership and a genuine commitment to the community's success".
Heiland has worked for the City since 2012. He holds a Masters in Public Administration from Drake University and is a certified city planner. He began his career in Phoenix, Arizona, after graduating, in ninety-nine, from Northwestern.
