Night closures on South Main resume in Maryville

Road work ahead sign

The City of Maryville is resuming night closures on South Main Street this week. At City Council last Tuesday, City Manager Ryan Heiland provided an update on the project, as the contracters, Genesis Construction work on a drainage system.

Heiland says, "Two storm sewer crossovers were completed last week. Genesis will be working on extending sewer drainage on the west side of the road at the completed crossover locatons this week."

As Genesis prepares for another set of sewer line crossovers, the road is closing once again between 9 pm and 5 am nightly. During the closure, those leaving and entering Maryville from the south on Interstate 70 should use a detour on Burris Road.

The work is all part of the city's South Main Improvement Project, Phase 2. The project remains on schedule with completion scheduled for winter or early spring of 2026. At last week's meeting, the council approved 60 thousand dollars of additional funds for the ongoing work.
