Chillicothe has approved an extra day for fireworks

Fireworks will pop in Chillicothe for a day longer than usual.

According to city ordinance, personal firework displays are limited to the dates of July 1st through the Fourth. But as Independence Day falls on a Friday this year, the city council approved an extra day of EXPLOSIVE festivities, allowing city residents to set off fireworks through July 5th.

The City Council requests that firework use be limited to the hours between 8 am and 11 pm.

The City sponsors it's own display each year, which will take place on Saturday evening begining at nightfall. Local organizations raised over 15 thousand dollars for the event.
