Welcoming ceremony for new fire chief for the City of St. Joseph

The City of St. Joseph is welcoming a new fire chief at this week's city council meeting. Chief Ivan Klippenstein started in the role on May 19th, but will take the oath, and be officially named by the Mayor in a ceremony on Tuesday evening.

Klippenstein has long served the Fire Department in the city of St Joseph. He joined back in 2002. According to a press release from the city, he has worked as a first responder, a training officer, a technician, a captain, and more in his decades with the Department. He began his career as a firefighter in 1989. City council meetings take place at 5:30 pm twice monthly and are open to the public.
