Nodaway County Route E is closed today for pavement repairs, continuing work which began earlier this week. Motorists in the northeast of the county outside of Sheridan should seek an alternate route between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. Crews on hand can coordinate local access for property owners along the roadway.
Additionally, the Missouri Department of Transportation is asking motorists statewide to prepare for a busy summer of roadwork ahead. Jon Nelson, a traffic engineer with the agency notes this summer will be one of the busiest ever for roadwork across the state, as major infrastructure projects are getting underway. He said "We need everyone's help to keep our highway workers, and each other, safe during that effort." Over Memorial Day Weekend alone in 2024, the state saw 10 fatalities on its roadways and 84 injuries. Visit traveler.mo.org to see up-to-date travel conditions in Missouri.
